Can i still go to kinesiology??
Hi, I have already being accepted into life science, but i was just reading the course outlines and required courses, i think Kinesiology would actually be a better program for me. However, the problem is that i did not apply for kinesiology : ( . I am just wondering is there anyway i can enroll in Kinesiology before level I start? Or i will only be able to transfer after first year??
Any help would be greatly appreacited : )

Change one of your applications on OUAC to Kin.
Transferring after 1st year will be much harder.

Try now, but there's no guarantee. Transferring isn't incredibly difficult but good grades first year is a must, and its better if possible to get in right away. The best person to ask about your chances now, is someone in admissions at mac.

I changed my Western Biomed application to Brock Accounting about a week before the deadline to pick a university, which was sometime in May I believe, and I got an acceptance letter within a few days. (it was a joke to prove to a friend I could get in that late)
That being said, I don't think it's too late, as long as you are willing to sacrifice one of your other applications.

actually, to be honest, the only reason i want to go into kin is for the desperate desire to take 1F03 Introduction to Human Nutrition & Health.. but i heard only kin students are allowed to take this, and along with the metabolism and nutrition in level III, is there anyway possible that i can take these 2 courses as elective in life sci?????

The 1F03 course does seem to be limited to Kin students but the 3Y03 (Human Nutrition and Metabolism) course is open to anyone, as long as you have the one bio prerequisite and are in third year or above.
Edit: Maybe you could get a waiver for 1F03, don't know how this works though.
Edit #2: I would look at the other courses in each program before making a decision; don't base your entire decision on a few courses. Kin is pretty specific while Life Sci can be very broad if you choose not to specialize.

I'm in Kin, and as far as I know, you can't get a waiver for 1F03, but 1F03 and 3Y03 are near identical, so you wouldn't be missing out if you took 3Y03 instead of 1F03
Hope this helps!

Unless they've changed it from when I was applying (2007-2008), you don't need to sacrifice one of your other applications. You could just go and 'add' an application up until the end of April or something around there. The deadline in January is only for applying to SOMETHING (ie, setting up all your information with OUAC, etc). Some individual programs have supplementary materials that are due earlier, so if you miss those deadlines you can't apply, but I don't think kin requires any of that.

You would have to pay extra to add another place to apply to (if you already have 3).

Yes...but you can apply to as many as you want. I have a friend who applied to 9 places, and then two days before the end of April, added four more, without forfeiting any of her other applications.

Do you think I would be able to pull off the same thing with Engineering? I have also already been accepted to Life sci.

Engineering is what my friend applied to last-minute, and she got accepted to Mac 8 days later. I don't think it matters if you've already been accepted to a different program at Mac, though.
