If you haven't taken high school calc then yes, you will have to take the equivalent at mac to do a minor. Because you have to take Econ 2x03 which requires calc.

Many of the econs require some kind of calc, so you may be able to get by for a while but you will eventually have to take it

Math is definitely necessary to minor in Economics.

It would be possible to minor without 2G03... You need 8 units to minor, so if you took 1B03, 1BB3, 2H03, 2HH3, 2K03, 2 of the second-year electives and a 3rd year class like, say, Game Theory that doesn't have 2G03 as a prereq, you could pull it off if you had any calc at all from high school to meet the prereq for 2nd year macro. But, calc is fairly essential so I wouldn't attempt it. Just bite the bullet and take Math 1F03, I suck at math too but it's NOT that bad if you put the effort in.

No but my friend taking it now some of the econ classes teach the required math (derivatives, integration etc) in the econ course
