  • Abstract reasoning skills
  • Writing skills
  • Research skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Finding multiple viewpoints/explanations
I do agree with that. That's why a lot of professional and graduate schools require you take English. It's usually not a recommended course but a required course.

I put the above document together for the Ontario Schools. It varies.

For out of province schools, it was your two best at Calgary. For Dal I believe it was your two most recent.

I didn't apply to the others so I wouldn't know

I think that for UBC, including the 6 credits of English, Orgo and Biochemistry, you also have to complete 6 units of Biology and 6 units of General Chemistry. Though for general chemistry it's kind of a given seeing as it's a prerequisite for Orgo. And I don't know whether this was put into action last year or this year, put they also opened more seats for out-of-province students!

Hey Lij,

For american med schools, you repeated English twice. Was there another course that was to replace English?

I would just like to state that all US schools don't have the same prerequisites and there may be additional courses which are also required. So you should look into it if you want to attend medical school in the states.

You have to do your own research as to the individual school cut-off average. However a general rule of thumb is to aim above 3.7 cGPA.
