Since MCAT is not indicated under some schools, it means that it is not required?

In Canada, the MCAT is required at almost all schools with the exception of Ottawa, NSOM, and McGil (New this year).

In America, MCAT is a big factor in determining whether a candidate recieves an interview. Depending on the school it may be an equal or if not bigger factor than your GPA. MCAT is required for all American schools, if not 99% of them.

You have to contact each school to find out if it is an acceptable equivalent.

Correct, not all Canadian schools require the MCAT.

Doubtful. It's best to email the school directly about such issues.
CSCT courses work if they are cross listed.

I'd aim for a 3.8 or higher. The cGPA keeps on going up, although Western went from 3.75 to 3.7 this year because of the increase in VR.

Some schools require that the course is offered through the English department.

CSCT = Cultural Studies and Critical Theory.

Cross listed courses are identical courses under two different course codes.

From the Undergraduate Calendar

CSCT 1CS3 STUDYING CULTURE: A CRITICAL INTRODUCTION
An introduction to the fields of Cultural Studies and Critical Theory with a study of a range of theoretical approaches to culture as a site of meaning, identities, power, and pleasure. Considerable emphasis will be placed on the development of effective writing skills.
Two lectures, one tutorial; one term

Cross-List(s): ENGLISH 1CS3
Antirequisite(s): CSCT 1B03, 1BB3, ENGLISH 1B03, 1BB3

i.e that means this course is pretty much the same as the English course

It actually IS the same course. All students taking the CSCT course and the English course are put into the same room, same teacher, same course outlines, etc...
