Chem 1A03 test
Hey guys!

So Chem 1a03 marks just came in and i was wondering what is considered a good mark for the first test in terms of this course.

85% + if it is anything like last year

I think it depends on the person. What is good to them may not be good for someone else.

Anything above 80 is pretty darn good. Even anything above 70 is a good mark too. I'm happy with my 92 and I know someone else that got a 100 on the first one!

Yeah, there tend to be a decent amount of people who get 90+, and then a lot of people who get in the 60s-70s...and then people who fail and people who get 80s, but those tend to be somewhat less common. The difficulty of the midterm really doesn't change at all year to year (despite how everyone each year insists that the previous years' midterms they were given as practice were so much easier). IIRC the average is usually high-60s.

What is "good" kind of depends on you, and how much you like to compare yourself to the rest of the class. Like, say you got 40% on a test...well, most people would say that sucks, and if it doesn't matter to you what other people got, then fine, the mark sucks. If the class average was 30% and you compare yourself to that, you didn't actually do so bad

I remember the first test marks were much higher than test 2, etc. an 80+ was very doable on the first test, even 90s werent that hard.

my friend got 65 on first midterm last year but got 95 on 2nd midterm and only 1 wrong on final. it was nice.
