Choosing Courses (Commerce students only)
I have completed all of first year. I'm taking Commerce 2AA3, 2AB3, 2FA3, and 2QA3 in the summer.

My goal is a CA, but i do want to keep CMA as a backup, for which i would need 3MC3.

My question is, what should i take in regular year, and how should i balance out my terms to

maximize easiness *roll's eyes*.

Classes I am taking for sure are:

Commerce 2BA3, 2BC3, 2MA3, 2KA3, 3AB3, 3FA3, 3AC3, and Econ 2X03.

I need 2 more courses, so please advise me on which ones, and what courses should i keep in

term 1 and which ones i should save for term 2?

Thank you

I'm sorta a commerce student in the sense I'm doing a business minor

I'm taking 2aa3 in summer too. people tell me 2ab3 is hard. same with finance. It seems you are already taking all the hard courses. 2Ba3/2bc3 is a breeze in comparison since it is just memorization and application of human psychology. I didn't do so hot in 2ba3 cause I'm not used to those types of questions. 2BA3 Has to be in first term and 2BC3 second (since 2BA3 is a prerequisite)

2MA3 is going to be a nightmare because the prof is really tough and has "killer reports/projects". If i recall 2MA3 is a must for commerce students.

That's about all i know about commerce courses

If I recall correctly, Rita Cossa (prof for 2MA3) won't be teaching next year. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that, but that is what I was told.

Also, the course itself is not that bad, just alot of time involved.

2MA3 is no worse than 2BA3 or 2BC3, the only thing that makes it more challenging, and why people in general do worse in it is because of Rita Cossa and her absurd marking. You can lose so many marks on the report for that class for the SMALLEST mistakes. Other than that, that class was actually very easy.

Thanks guys, although i already do know about rita cossa, and about course formats and pre-reqs.

My main question still didnt get answered though :(

I'm thinking i should place my terms like this for a bit of a balance:

Term 1: 2BA3, 3AB3, 3FA3, 2X03, unknown
Term 2: 2KA3, 2MA3, 2BC3, 3AC3, unknown

^seemss balanced?

The report is easy for 2MA3, just follow the instructions and you should get over 80% on it.

+ why isn't rita teaching o.o

Can't remember why.. but there are a few years that she hasn't taught before.
I'm still not 100% if she's really not teaching next year, it's just something

I'm pretty sure Rita is teaching 4th year business policy (4PA3) instead of 2MA3 and 1E03

I'd say you already maximized "easiness" because none of those courses are difficult. Your most difficult course will probably be 3AC3, even though it's technically not that hard, because that's the nature of accounting. Plus liabilities become more complex than the assets it seems and it all depends on your level of understanding of accounting concepts. I did well in those courses, but some people can't grasp it. 2KA3, 2BA3, 2BC3 should be the least of your worries. I never even went and still did amazing.

Good luck!

Salik says thanks to andrea_18 for this post.

I took 2AA3 first term and these two second term. I found 2AA3 much harder then 2ab3 and 2fa3. I put very little effort into 2ab3 and 2fa3 and was doing pretty well (until the really hard/unprepared for exams). 2AA3 I went to class everyday and payed a lot of attention but the questions on the midterms and exam were simply harder then they are in the other course. Also 2ab3 and 2fa3 covers a lot less material I found, 2aa3 I had to learn a lot of things where as in 2ab3 and 2fa3 there were a select few things we had to focus on.
