Computer Gaming - Mac Lan Club
Hi,

My name is Kevin Folz, an Engineering student at McMaster University. I would like to introduce MacLanClub. Our goal is to provide an environment for McMaster students who enjoy computer gaming over LANs, without lag. We play some of the most popular games, such as Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Unreal Tournament 2004, Counterstrike 1.6, and StarWars Jedi Knight 2.

If your interested in joining this new club at mcmaster, please visit the webpage, and sign up for the mailing list to be notified of upcomming events, such as the lan party on Feb 28th, from 6:30pm until midnight, in the JHE lounge (aka "The Drain") room 121.

Hope to see you there, and if you have any questions, please email [email protected] vault.com

Hey Kevin,

If you want a forum specifically for MacLan Club, send an email to [email protected] and we can hook you up with one at MacInsiders.

If you have any additional questions, you can PM myself, or the MacInsiders President, Chad for more info.

A LAN club!? Amazing lol. I remember the good ol' days of Starcraft way back in middle school. My friend Mike Pomeroy says there has been a sort of revival of the game in the engineers lounge with the upcoming SC 2.

If you want a forum setup here on macinsiders for your club members to chat about games, etc. send me a PM or email [email protected] om

PS, give me more details about the LAN party and we'll help promote it, as I know a lot of friends who would be into this type of event

lol, oh Danielle. It's when you have a bunch of computers together so dozens of people can play multiplayer in a game at the same time... usually all in the same room. Gets really competitive cause you're playing with or against your friends, can be lots of fun

I wish you best of luck with your event Kevin. Be sure to spread the word about MacInsiders, and let me know if you'd like a forum setup for your club Kevin then you can link to it from your website and have your members chat about games, etc. in your own forum.

Let us know how the event went!

Hi Chad, the event went ok (considering having Mystery Road Trip running at the same time...) Several new members have joined in the last week, and now our mailing list has 20 people on it! I created a links page http://www.maclanclub.fragva ult.com/links.html and put your logo on there. Thanks again, Kevin.

Great! Glad to hear it went well, and thanks for the link! The Mystery Road Trip, which we also posted about, seemed to have a lot of people going to it which could have taken away from what your turnout could have been. Just let us know when your next event is and we'll help spread the word.
