For "Biology 1A03", it says the following for the course description

"Prerequisite (beginning 2008-2009): BIOLOGY 1M03 and registration in any Level I program in the Faculty of Science, Arts & Science I, Honours Kinesiology I, Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering or Electrical and Biomedical Engineering; or registration in Medical Radiation Sciences I; and credit or registration in SCIENCE 1A00"

It requires Biology 1M03 to be completed first (unless I'm misunderstanding that part)

BUT, I checked on the undergraduate calender for 2009-2010 and it said this for "Biology 1A03"

I am extremely confused, do you need biology 1M03 in order to take 1A03 or not??!?!

Why does McMaster course description contradict itself!

The first link, you were looking at the 07/08 undergrad calendar, so it's pretty old. And the Prereq Bio 1M03 was gonna be put in place starting the 08/09 school year. BUT, it appears to have changed again started in the 09/10 school year to Bio 1M03 NOT being a prereq to Bio 1A03. If it was, SOLAR wouldn't have passed it too!

You dont need BIO 1M03 to take BIO 1A03.

That is from the 2008 calendar, refer to the 2009-2010 academic calendar

You can take BIO 1A03 and BIO 1M03 either term 1 or 2. You can even take both courses in the same term but it is strongly not recommended.

Yes... as far as I know, you must follow the course requirements and such from the calendar from your first year... if the old calendars had no use, then they would surely take them down simply due to possible confusion.
