Confused about third year courses
hi i am new to this. Happy new year every1. I am starting second semester as a third year life sci student. I am very confused on what to take. I can not decide between bio3I03vs3UU3vsMolBio 3HH3. I have to pick 2 of the 3. And is there any other 3rd year courses that i may not be aware of like environmental science? or like Social sciences?VEry confused any help would be appretiated.

The first step would be to check what your program requirements are and see what you haven't fulfilled yet. This would likely not apply if you are an exchange student.

If you're just looking for any third year courses in the life sciences, look under the course listings of biology, biochemistry, or psychology.

Just because you're in third year does not mean you are obliged to take third year courses, if that is what's confusing you. You can take any courses (1st - 4th year) provided you have the prerequisites.

Absolutely!

The beauty of it is that the life science course list is pretty flexible in what you can take. I personally have been going the environmental science/psychology route because that is where my interest lies.

You just have to make sure that you are meeting all of the requirements to graduate with a life science degree.

To make sure, these links in the undergraduate calendar are pretty clear:
Honours Life Sciences - http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1957.html
Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences - http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1958.html

For reference, you would most likely (although I am not 100% sure) fall under the "STUDENTS WHO ENTERED PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 2009" heading. A few things changed in the program structure after the 2008-2009 year.

Also, MacInsiders has an awesome Course Reviews section ( http://www.macinsiders.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98 ), which has many students' reviews of certain courses that you may be considering taking. If you can't find all you need, start a new thread about the course in question.

hey thank you so much for the insight. Is there environmental science 3rd year courses you can recommend? Or anything else, like what about environmental science 3j03 or 3cc3?

I'm actually taking 3CC3 this coming term. John Maclachlan is an excellent professor plus I've heard it's a fairly straight-forward course. As for 3J03, I'm considering taking it (but it's still full) so I may drop in to the class on Wednesday and see what the first lecture is like.

This was the course outline in 08-09 for 3CC3:

It might change as the profs are different.

This is for 3J03:
