For some reason I don't have the option of picking cores, tutorials, and labs for any of my courses. Is this the same reason for everyone in the Engineering Faculty?

yes it is the same for everyone. you wouldn't be allowed to choose cores, tutorials or labs for most of the courses, but you can change the ones assigned to you once your schedule is available on Aug 11.

You rarely pick your sections when you first register. Only for the smaller classes. It's because some people may only have 1 section that they can take because of their schedule while others may have 2 or more. So if everyone picks that one section, that one person cannot take the course.
