Course equivalence question for other universities
I'm looking at this website and im wondering what do the * marks mean in the equivalent course section? For example, "CMST 2*03"?

It just means a general credit for CMST. I have one for bio2*03 and it can't be used to fulfill other course requirements because there isn't a course at McMaster that's exactly like the * course.

Sometimes degree requirements specify "15 units from levels 3,4 biology" or something along those lines. So if you took bio 3*03, they may accept that course towards your 15 units. Also, the courses can count as general electives.

Yeah Star, I was trying to do that with one my bio2*03 last year and they wouldn't let me substitute it with a degree requirement. I'm gonna ask again and post back here, though.

Yeah, that's why I said "may" lol. I've heard of it happening and of it not happening, but either way it should count as a general elective as a worst-case scenario. I hope it works out for you!!
