I'm in second year but I want to register for one first year course in the fall. Since I have to register June 16th but first years don't register until later on, am I able to sign up for a first year course on the 16th or do I have to sign up for all my others and wait to sign up for the first year course?

You don't have to wait. All courses are available as long as you have the prerequisite for them.

Thats whats good about being upper year.. you can sign up for courses before the people they're intended for can do so.

They only open a certain number of seats to upper years though, until everyone has gone through the selection process. They also open a certain number of seats depending on which faculty you are in.
