Question about registration
Hi, guys!

I am an exchange student and I have a question: what does 'cancelling a course without failure by default' mean? I'm just asking because the last day to drop a course was monday, but I forgot and I dropped a course today at Mugsi, and now it says that the status of the course is 'Cancelled no grade'. What does that mean?

Thanks!

If you cancel without failure by default, it just says that you cancelled the course on your grade report and it won't affect your average.

I think after the cancelling deadline your grade is 0 by default.

Is there anything negative that could come from having a course written as cancelled on your transcript?

There are many reasons to cancelling a course. It would depend on the person reading your transcript as well as the course you cancelled. I don't think you have to worry much. In either case most (if not all) Grad and Professional schools have interviews before they admit you. If it poses a problem, they will ask why you cancelled the course but unless the course isn't required for admission then I don't think it would make a difference.
