so if level 1 requires u to take 32 units, you can take let's say, 29 units, and still fulfill the requirements of your diploma??

Can you do that? I don't think you can...
If your degree says you need x amount of units and INCLUDES electives in that number, then you NEED to take electives to fufill your degree. You can't take just the required courses and get your degree. All units need to be filled as far as I know.
If you didn't take an elective Danielle, don't you need to stay an extra year or do summer school to fill up those electives later?

Selective wording here.
You can't complete less than the number of credits you need to fulfill your degree. However, you don't have to complete all of the units in one year to fulfill the requirements for that year.
If you fail a class (which I did), I still met the requirements to be accepted into level two. Technically I didn't complete 30 units.
One of my previous housemates took only 8 units in third year and still was accepted into fourth.

Ah ok, that makes more sense. Yes, as long as you keep doing the requirements to advance each year you could technically save all your electives till the end and take a year or two just with electives... then as soon as you've completed all of the units outlined in your degree requirements you can claim your degree.
But you need all the units... electives included!  |

yeah i think chad is right.. cause if it isn't the case... why would anynoe want to take 30 units everyyear. you can take a lighter load. but have to make up the courses in summer or take an extra year...
i guess you should really speak with a councilor about this.. a big decision that can affect how you plan out your courses, etc for the following years.

Summer school is probably the best way to eleviate your course load during the regular school year while still being able to graduate in the standard 4 year period

Hi
I was just thinking that last time when last time while registering for my course I asked it to verify changes and conflict it did not show any problem but when the time table came up I had a conflict .Why is that so?Will I face the sam eproblem this time too?

Solar sometimes doesn't have all the times and dates for every class/tutorial so sometimes conflicts don't show... but they do in the timetable. You should always double check for conflicts manually and not always rely on SOLAR to point them out.

I remember when i was entering first year. I thought term 3 was summer school so I didn't sign up for a lot of the courses I wanted because I knew I wouldnt be there for the summer. Oh if I knew what I know now...
