Courses conflicting...
I need to take LINGUIST 1A03 and BIOLOGY 1P03. But they both only offer one Core and conflict. What am I supposed to do? I have to take BIOLOGY 1A03 in Term 2, which fits into my schedule. Why do they only offer 1 core for these?

Bio 1P03 is grade 12 equivalent, right? Your best bet would be to take grade 12 bio this summer.

It's not possible to take grade 12 bio this summer.

probs should have looked into the courses that your program requires before choosing them at the start of grade 12.

The only offer one core because there's no need for more.

What program are you in? I'm not sure why you "need" both to be done in first year.

State the obvious much? That doesn't help me. I had no clue what I wanted to go into in grade 12. I took 2 years off to decide.

I'm in Humanities. I have to do LING because that's what I'm studying and even if I wasn't there aren't many options in list 1 for humanities (that are interesting). I have to do BIO because I need it for psych classes later on. I have to do 1 BIO every semester to have the right requirements to go into the third year psych classes I will need.

You can't take bio 1A03 if you're a level 1 humanities student. You would have to wait until at minimum the summer after first year, or take it in second year and not take the 3rd year psych courses that you want until fourth year.

I know stating the obvious doesn't really help you, but these are the kinds of things that happen when you decide late and/or change your mind and/or don't plan ahead. It makes things harder, but not impossible. Even if you had taken grade 12 bio already though, it wouldn't help much because you can't take bio 1A03 in first year anyways. Is bio 1P03 offered in term 2, when it doesn't conflict? If not, there's always summer school the following year.

1P03 is only available in the first term.

Then I guess you'd have to drop Ling 1A03 if you really want to take Bio 1A03 in term 2?

Your other option is to take SBI4U (Gr. 12 Bio) in summer school.

It's because the demand for these courses can be satisfied with one core, they wouldn't open up a second one unless the demand is there.

You can always take Ling 1A03 second year if you'd like.

LING 1A03 is always offered in the summer time as well. If you really want to take it and the bio course, you can wait until then...
