Seems to be a lot of misinformation in this thread, or information that is not in line with my anecdotes. i have taken two summer courses, then 8 courses during the fall term. Not only was I on the Dean's List, I was eligible (and received) academic recognition and scholarships (Hooker, etc).

I agree that there's a lot of misinformation, but your experience makes perfect sense with what is in the course calendar and what I was trying to explain.

It's kind of a good thing to have on transcripts and I feel like I've been screwed over because I trusted the university knew what they were doing.

Does anyone have any experience with this happening? or know if there's anything I can do to retroactively get the award or something?
If you don't take 30 units during the fall/winter then you don't qualify for it. Summer doesn't count toward your fall/winter SA.

If you read the thread, this has already been addressed a few times.
They don't count towards your fall/winter SA, but they do still count towards the calculation for Dean's list. The Dean's list is USUALLY done using the SA, but not always (in cases where you take summer school courses, it wouldn't be).
