Do all residences offer single rooms?
Hello everyone
I was just wondering if all residences (including Mary E. Keyes and Bates) offer single rooms for residents?
Because if I apply (for 2011) and I fill out a Special Accommodation Application for a single room and my own washroom, (and I maintain a 95%+ average, which I heard they consider for single rooms), would I be able to live in any residence?

Thank you

Not all single rooms have washrooms attached, but I believe there is atleast 1 single room in every residence.

So even Mary Keyes? Suite-style single room?

That's also a possibility, but don't get too excited. Upper years get into Keyes so not as many first years get in. But like I said, it's still possible.

all suites and apartment style residences are technically 'single rooms'...each person within the same suite or apartment gets their own room, and then they share the washroom(s) with the other people in their suite/apartment. The larger apartments/suites have two washrooms, the smaller ones have one.

If you have a 95%+ average you're guaranteed a single occupancy room. This could be a single room in a suite/apartment style or a single room in a traditional style residence. You won't be able to get a single occupancy apartment/suite to yourself because those don't exist for first year students.

If your request for special accommodation including a single room with a private washroom is approved then you'll most likely be in Les Prince. The vast majority of singles with washroom are in Les Prince with a small number scattered throughout a few other residences. There aren't singles with washrooms in EVERY residence. So if that's the accommodation you need, no you won't be able to live in any residence.
