What to do before lectures
Hello, today is my first real lecture for chem 1A03 class and I printed the skeleton notes as my prof has asked us yesterday... But I'm wondering if we are supposed to preview all the stuff on the skeleton note (on entire unit 8) beforehand to follow his lecture. I'm also not sure if he's gonna cover the whole unit in one lecture. I need some advice from upper year students who must have gone through the same problem and managed to survive in it...

Thanks

If you have time review your notes beforehand. That is why they are provided for you (at least in part). That way if there is something you don't understand it can be cleared up in lecture.

My advice is to sit down, close your eyes, clear your mind and take long slow deep breaths for 30 seconds. Then attend your first lecture and all will be revealed.

Like Danielle said, it would be very helpful if you looked over the skeleton slides before class. Sometimes the professor will go through the slides very quickly and if you aren't prepared, you can easily get lost/confused. Last year, my chem 1A03 prof covered approximately one chapter per week....Depending on the material and the difficulty level, you will spend more time on some chapters and less on others. On average, I think we covered about 30 slides per class.
