Dress Code and Cost for Off Campus Student Dinner?
Hi there,
I was checking out the Welcome Week events and my friends and I were interested in attending the Off Campus Student Dinner and Evening Social. We were wondering what the dress code was...casual or semi-formal? Also, is there a cost for this event, and if so, how much and how do we pay for it? Thanks!

Free, where whatever you want as long as it isn't inappropriate (too much skin, too baggy, etc)

I was wondering about the dress code for the Monday Night Social, too.
The theme is "retro" but I don't know whether to wear a retro summery dress or one of those bright coloured baggy t-shirts... I wouldn't want to stand out.

I think I'm gonna wear a dress - it's sort of summery, but sort of formal at the same time (I can't explain) .. but it has a retro style to it.
Should I wear heels or would that be too much?
Because there's a dance, and there's also a "charity casino" thing going on..

Pants-optional.
As for the Monday night social, if you decide to go to 1280 for the club night, which I highly recommend, it will be hot and sweaty. So wear something you're comfortable in and can rock out in. Try to look while doing it too

Reply To Both Socials
I'm a SOCS rep and was part of Welcome Week as a student last year with SOCS. The thing about the dinner/social for Sunday is that it's only for Off-Campus students only. Also, the dress code for that is as of right now the theme is Socs' n Sandals, but that still means not too much skin should be showing, and etc. For the Monday Night Social, the theme is retro, if you can find something retro to wear, that would be great but if not then it's not mandatory but the same policy runs with that one as well. Sorry to burst any bubbles.

Oh also, for the SOCS, it's not formal, so wear casual clothing preferably again beach themed. And we also encourage the SOCS t-shirts, for security reasons. This year for both socials, we're having a gigantic tent placed outside for both dance events on Sunday and Monday, so I believe the issue of being cooped up, sweaty and etc. in 1280 is out of the question.

@ Leeoku, it's only for first years, off-campus students and their WW reps. Sorry.
