Econ 1B03 Textbook Question
Can someone tell me the difference between:
a) CUST PKG: INTRO TO MICROECONOMICS WITH APLIA (6MTHS, PRINCIPLES OF MICRO) (REQUIRED)
b) CUST PKG: SUPERPK PRINCIPLES OF MACRO 6E, INTRO TO MICRO, SG FOR PRINC OF MACRO, APLIA FOR PRINC OF MICRO AND MACRO 6MTHS (OPTIONAL)

Does a) come with the study guide already? And if I buy a used copy will I still have access to APLIA?
Is b) Econ 1B03 and 1BB3 together?

Sorry, if this is a really dumb question. :$

Any help is much appreciated!

You won't have aplia access. 1bo3 and 1bb3 are separate courses they just decided to bundle it.

Thank you!

Would you or anyone recommend aplia access? Is it necessary?

For us it was mandatory (which apparently was illegal) It was useful and helpful and forced you to do practice questions and did offer teaching if the pace was too fast in class.
-Want better teaching? Worth it (or find links online)
-Want extra practice? Not worth it, just find past papers

I would wait until school starts to see if Aplia is required for them. If the prof doesn't require it, then I wouldn't get it since most people find those 2 courses relatively easy

Thank you.

If someone who took Econ 1B03 during the 2013/2014 school year could let me know if Aplia was mandatory for them that would be great! The professor is Holmes.

And if you'd like to leave your opinion of the usefulness of Aplia, I'd appreciate it.
I tend to like to use all the resources available to me, but if it's not mandatory I would much rather get a used copy of the textbook.

Thanks guys!

I took 1B03 with Holmes during the 2013-2014 year and we didn't have Apila. Also, don't buy a textbook for the course ... it's useless.

You get a bonus for doing aplia in macro econ, but for microecon we never had used the aplia. I do however recommend you using the textbook but buy an old one and pick what you need to study from past tests.

It is now illegal to make it a requirement for additional resources such as aplia. Thus they made it optional and provide 2 marking schemes

Does anyone know how useful the study guide is?

I can't seem to find anyone selling the McMaster custom edition of the textbook WITH the study guide. (If you have it and you see this PM me or comment please!)

I suggest you buy the Economics textbooks used from someone and buy the APLIA software keys from the store.
That's what I did and you'll save some major $$
