The old plate weighs 2* pounds

When they always take off the weight for the new plate so you get away with an extra pound of food.

Maybe they'll smarten up and do something else with the old plates... but if they don't then you get cheap salad!

On another note, when you get to school, as tempting as it seems.. please don't steal the cutlery/cups. It's so annoying eating with plastic knives that don't cut properly.
Yeah, but the fact that they charge you money for stealing doesn't really help the cause. Everyone says, "Might as well since I'm charged for stealing".

For me, I had a regular meal plan, and was struggling to spend my basic by the end of the year (around 95% of my flex slashh freedom is carrying over). However, I very rarely bought breakfast (<3 Quaker instant oatmeal and common room kettle). By the end of the year, I was eating 3 meals a day on my meal plan, and buying a heck of a lot of gum (it comes in big boxes at the end of the year for people like me :p).

However, I also have friends (generally male) who had to add several hundred more dollars to their regular meal plan.

Yeah I definitely noticed that males were heavier eaters when I would go to Commons and see their meal purchases.

I once saw a guy eating two meals for dinner. He had like a half chicken dinner with potatoes and vegetables, a drink, and a bowl of pasta with meat sauce and meatballs. I was like dayum. He seemed like an athletic build so maybe he needed to beef up, I dunno. I was just so shocked to see that someone could eat that much in one sitting.

Hanging out with more male friends recently I noticed boys eat a lot more than girls.

I guess that's just the way it is.

Yeah, I've noticed that recently on a lot of incidents.. I guess it depends on size/built, but it's odd how it varies that much between guys & girls.

The recommended average calorie intake is 500 more for men that it is for women (2500 compared to 2000 respectively). That means that men, on average, should be eating 25% more then women.

Of course everything depends on weight, height and metabolism. Metabolism varies between people, not sure how they measure it... something about surface area and amount of heat produced.

can you bring drinks like juice into the dining hall if they're in a waterbottle like a nalgene or something?

What do you mean by "juice" exactly? Like a fruit juice or alcoholic beverage?

Are most profs okay with that though, especially if you're sitting near the front =/?

Depends on the professors but it should be alright as long as you are quiet about it.

I actually fell asleep in one of my classes right in front of the professor. Yeah it was rude on my part but the professor didn't say anything (I only fell asleep for like 5 minutes).

But in this other class, a student fell asleep and the professor started telling him off.

You can always ask before class if the professor minds.
