ELM Trouble All Over Again
So we're in second term... What would half of an entire term at Mac be without ELM being as crappy as possible!?
Can't do Physics CAPA's, can't obtain new physics or materials notes. Can't do ANYTHING. I can only imagine how big of a disaster ENG 1d04 would be if we were in a lab and had to submit something... so we finish it 30 minutes before the end of the lab, and we sit for 29 minutes waiting for ELM to decide that it can log us in, then time's up and we lose... They don't usually take sympathy on us: I've had a 1C03 where they said: Should've been done sooner!...
And again, I've complained to UTS. Stuff isn't going to get concluded for a couple months though, if last semester is any hint.

Our materials prof was explaining the reason they switched... It was because of a gigantic cheating ring/flaw they caught in the WebCT system that couldn't be fixed by WebCT without massive overhauls... So they switched to ELM.

WebCT is gone I think. It's not that Mac chose to switch, it's that WebCT isn't being used anymore.
Every time I try to open a file for the first time on ELM, it takes me back to the homepage. Then I go back in the course and open it again, and it works. Don't know why.

I believe the real reason was because the company that made WebCT (firstclass) no longer supports it. I wouldn't be surprised though if WebCT did have some sort of flaw like that though; it's a million years old (srsly, there have been fossilized imprints of unfinished CAPA quizzes discovered deep below the Earth's crust).

hahaha, along with Jopko's name on them?
Anyways, WebCT is still in use at Laurier at the very least. I have a friend there still using it.

Are you using EI or FireFox? I know it happens with EI when I use it on some computers at mac but with firefox it works well. Though its slow sometimes and kind of annoying.

WebCT was a lot better, but I haven't had any problems with ELM this term other than the fact it took so long to get my courses up there. Although, I may be so used to using the crappy service that I don't notice it anymore...

... Lol, I didn't even see that...
I use Google Chrome for ELM, if anyone else uses it do you see any problems because I don't...
