I'm sure this sounds like a really silly question but I'm pretty electronically challenged. How do you delete emails on your mac email account?

Check mark the ones you want to delete. Then click the "set" button beside "deleted". Finally click "Purge Deleted" at bottom.

go into your inbox and tick the boxes beside the e-mails you want to delete. then click 'delete' (it's in the lower left hand side underneath 'read' and 'flagged'.) then on the top bar go to mailboxes. and then click empty trash or else they'll still take up space on in your account.
