emergency alert for cellphones?
Hi
I was just wondering if McMaster had some sort of emergency alert system that sends messages to students' cellphones when there is an emergency on campus. U of T has one but I couldn't find any info for Mac. Is there one?

McMaster has opted for a different approach. We use messenger pigeons.

JK, actually there isn't a current system, but, the new towers are being installed that are essentially campus wide PA systems

Geez, didn't you listen to the guy at the seminar when they told us about them! They employ super pigeons that are immune to all disease and can travel at the speed of light. lol.

On that note, I'm pretty sure this conversation is officially going nowhere

They are super pigeons because they were genetically altered to contain an enzyme that breaks down bird flu dna. All the genetic alterations were made here at McMaster University ^-^

All pigeons are also required to wear a diaper to prevent the spread of droppings.

Suree but Pandemic virus are absolute badasses, more often then not there is a threat that they mutate into unknown types at will. Hence rendering any vaccination/enzymes null and void!
