Engineering advice: What kind of marks should I aim for?
As a mac engineer, I've decided to aim high but expect low marks..so im expecting 60s at mac..is this a reasonable goal..like I plan on TRYING to get 70..and Im fully aware that its hard to do in uni..so is getting 60 for the first year somewhat reasonable? (or possible)

For the record, my calc, physics, and chem overall avg is about 77%, and since I always hear marks drop by 10-15%, my aim is reasonable, right?

My last year in high school averaged about a mid-to-high 80 and my first year average was about 4.5

be prepared! sometimes tests and stuff are really killer, and this past year i had a prof so brutal a bunch of us got 0's on the tests and the averages were like 20. it really stings but AS LONG AS YOURE AHEAD OF THE CURVE! it doesnt matter

everyone needs to maintain a 4 average to stay in engineering, 3 to stay at mac

if you want to get into a program of higher demand, you need higher marks

hehe, It really depends on where you came from, if you are lacking, always go to tutorials. Or the clubs, I know theres a math club that helps people, undergrad chem is also good. If you get a chance join the mcmaster eng society- the upper years have lecture notes, tests, old books and keen advice.

I used to do that, but I dont know, my life just changed in a week..I live in a new city, residence and now go through a vigorous but quick school year.

But thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. Bobby: I'll be sure to check that out cause Im not too good in math lately..

What kind of GPA will I need for mechanical/computer engineering?
