I know the books

but people say that not everything in the book is covered, so i want to know exactly

Technically, it IS against the rules unless you are specially, and currently, enrolled in the exact same course (including years). But that's not the main issue. This refers to powerpoint slides or anything not generated by the individual student.

Trying to get assignments is the bigger issue. Because they directly impact your grade. Whether you copy the answers or not, even if you just look at the questions to get a feel for them and they are not publicly available (ie posted on Avenue), its cheating.

You should be more careful about these things, universities can and will ruin your career if they catch you cheating or something. Even little things like this thread might be taken to higher levels.
