I am going into social sciences in the fall, and wondering if taking an English course is necessary? I know it isn't mandatory for my program but is it a prerequisite for many other courses? I am overly interested in the course, I am just wondering if I will be stuck later on if I don't take it. Did anyone not take an English and regret it? or take it and have it turn out to not be needed? Thanks!

I'm a Social Science student, as well, and I took English as an elective (this was before I knew I was going to major in it, lol) in first year.

Hmm, I believe the only time you need English as a pre-requisite is for other English courses, and maybe even cultural studies and/or theatre & film.

If you're interested in taking it, then I'd definitely say go for it!
It would count as an elective, and if you ever needed it in the future, then you'd have it. (Y)

It'll say what pre-req's you need for what class.
