Evaluate Courses and Profs Please!
Here's what I'm taking:

Term 1:
HTH SCI 1E06
HTH SCI 1I06
HTH SCI 1G06
CHEM 1A03 - Emslie
MATH 1A03 - Haskell

Term 2:
HTH SCI 1E06
HTH SCI 1I06
CHEM 1AA3 - Lock
PHYSICS 1B03 - Rheinstatder
ECON 1B03 - Holmes

I tried to make it as balanced as possible. I would LOVE some feedback from people who have taken any of these courses or experienced any of these profs.

Thanks!

Haven't had Lock but she's the favourite from the chem department!!!
Don't know who Emslie is..
Rheinstatder is better than Hughes in my opinion! But I just didn't enjoy physics that much.
If you had a good chemistry experience in high school then you will do well in 1A03 because it is all pretty much review of high school in a bit more detail. Those with a weaker chemistry background may suffer a little unless they put in the effort and really understand chemistry. Chemistry 1AA3 is more new material so everyone is (for the most part) in the same boat, which is nice. Overall don't worry you will be fine and you lucked out with Lock! People always try to get in her class, I did last year but it was all full!

Econ 1B03 with Holmes is one of the easiest course I've taken at Mac. If things haven't changed, she makes the third lecture of the week a quiz, which takes about 10 mins to finish (then you can leave). Lecture is not very interesting, but you are not going to fall asleep either and you can actually understands what she says (unlike some of my engineering courses). In case you miss a lecture, you can always listen to podcast of the lecture so you never miss a lecture. Exam was a 120 MC questions (If things haven't changed of course), its long, but not particularly hard. Definitely a course to recommend.

You're lucky you have Lock in 1AA3, she's the best chem prof IMO. For 1A03, if you have a strong chem background or you like chem, it doesn't really matter what prof you have, you'll do fine.

For physics 1B03, I had rheinstadter and most people say he's better than hughes, but I'm undecided about that. Hughes subbed for our lecture once and that proved to be a really fun, challenging lecture. But I hear her midterm questions are really hard so..

Yes I had a great experience with Chemistry in high school. In fact I love the subject so so much!

Can someone tell me about Prof. Dumont? Its either him or Emslie and people seem to give the latter high review on ratemyprof.com

Similarly what about Barto? Its either him or Haskell, and people seem to love Haskell.

Can anyone else provide feedback too? Please? I will love you forever if you do!
