If you have any relatives in the states, or anywhere there to ship to at all, this site posts amazing deals on hard drives. 2 TB goes for about $100, sometimes. Just search "external hard drive."

I'd say just try and find a good deal off of tigerdirect.ca or newegg.ca. Apart from that, using an enclosure is usually a faster/cheaper alternative if you're buying bulk memory. Just my opinion though.
