You have every right to complain, but it's important that you can show that it's a pattern of behaviour. Having AV issues once in a while isn't unusual (especially in MDCL 1305 for some reason...) and sometimes it just won't work the way it's supposed to. If the one incident is all you have to go off of, nothing will come of your complaint, but if it's an ongoing problem, then maybe you'll have some luck. I agree that the ombuds office is probably the best place to go, because they know all the procedures and whatnot. An alternative is just emailing the professor directly to voice your concerns, you just need to be careful how you phrase it... "Since we missed out on 34 minutes of lecture time last night and however many minutes in the past, etc etc, will we be having a make-up class? I really value class time, I want to make sure I get the most out of it, especially since tuition is so expensive."
