First Year Courses
I'm going into the Life Sciences I program in September 2012. If I wanted to major in biotechnology later on, should I take a computer science course as one of my electives for first year?

There is no "biotechnology" program that stems from life sciences. You can do biochem with a biotech specialization...comp uter science is in no way necessary for this program/specialization.
There is a biotechnology program that stems from bachelor of technology, but this is in the engineering department: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...13/pg1243.html

You choose what program you want to major in at the end of your first year, and then based on your marks, you may be accepted or not into these 4 choices you get.
Then before you pick your courses, you have to choose on of your accepted majors.
If you want to do biochem (biotech), then make sure you have all the first year admission requirements (found below)
