First year engineering. Hello.
Hello, I am going into first year engineering and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Questions:
  • What to bring to university? Clothes? Bed? Toothbrush? Chair?
  • Computer. Desktop gaming PC with power for Autodesk or Ultrabook, Tablet to replace textbooks?
  • Course selections; which courses and when to take them? Mornings? Evenings? Consolidate into smallest amount of time, or spread throughout the day?
  • I just missed the residence application deadline (no longer guaranteed, but also don't have to pay $600 deposit). So screw residence, I'm going to live by myself. How do I pick an apartment? I have no idea what I'm doing.
I wouldn't surprised if these questions have been answered here already. I just have to go reading now. Thanks for hosting this excellent website.

2) Computer I'd stick with a laptop to take notes in class. Desktop.. if you're living in res or off campus is great to have a larger screen to get projects done and to watch tv/movies while relaxing in bed. But definitely need laptop to take notes, MUCH easier.
