Here's what I had for my first year, first term but I took out English and took Micro-Econ on Thursday evenings instead and had Chem Labs on Friday morning.

I didn't even go to a single Econ lecture. But that's just me.

IMO, it's better to free up your Friday afternoons since most test in your first term will be on Friday evenings.

They changed it this year.

1P03 will only be 1 term. And there will be 3 maths (1 first term, 2 second).

Probably will be 6 and 6.

Hardest courses for majority were Math,Physics,Material s and either 1D04 or 1C03.

Check out the undergraduate calendar for all the course details:
http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1197.html

Also, I would suggest not having 1P03 and 1C03 in the same term, because if things stay the same, you'll have two big projects due at the same time.

1P03 is only offered term one.

So basically, just take 1C03 term 2.

Ya, I agree Math and Physics were probably the hardest. Materials is only hard if you really don't do anything. If you have ever programmed before and can draw, 1D04 and 1C03 should be easy 12s for you.

spaces are pretty nice if your in rez. Can't go wrong with quick naps

Don't go nuts with too many spaces between classes though.

It's all pretty much personal preference.
My opinion:
- A class RIGHT after or before a lab isn't too fun
- Two labs back-2-back is satan.
-lab and tutorial back to back is satan's mistress.
- 3 classes back to back is my limit (need food/coffee breaks)
-8:30 labs and tutorials are..well closely related to satan. (unless your a morning person, then go nuts). I dont like morning labs and tuts because of the risk of sleeping in and missing one, did that with a physics lab and getting a remake done is a hassle you dont need in first year eng.

-if your commuting, things might be different in that you may want all your classes together if you want to be in and out. However hanging out and the library or even getting work done during breaks is great.

heres my term two (cant find term one) (i took what they gave me, wasnt bad, thursday was hell and waking on monday morning sucked)

Oh yeah. AVOID 8:30 labs. Lmao, especially for Physics 1D03 and 1E03

I had Friday evening physics labs BOTH terms. I couldn't get rid of it and it nearly killed me.

My timetable looked pretty much the same.

Hardest courses: the maths, and possibly materials.
Time consuming courses: Physics, and possibly chemistry, depending on how knowledgeable you are already.
Easiest courses: Programming, professional engineering, design, and chemistry.

I had health studies and english for my electives; liked nor did good in neither.. I would suggest economics instead.

It's been a long time since I was in first year, but I imagine most things are similar

I would just say that most labs will NOT take you to all 3 hours, so putting them in the middle of your day sucks. I found them best at the end of the day, so if they're over early, you can just go home/to rez, instead of waiting around in random places for your next class to start.

AND what a gyp! We had to take 3 maths, but we had full year P03 (But we also didnt have a c03 project - woohoo!)
