First year Soc Sci- Psychology
Hello!
I will be a first year student this September for Social Science- Psychology
I'm just trying to make my mock time table but I'm stuck with one question.

So what is the difference between B.A. in Psychology {1460} and Honours Psychology, Neurosci & Behaviour (B.A.) {2460}?

My goal is to work with autistic kids but to do so, I don't know which one I need.
Help please

Hey hey!!

A B.A. in Psychology is a three-year program, whereas the Honours Psychology, Neurosci & Behaviour is four years.

If you'd like to do a Masters or pHd, you definitely need the Honours one.

You also need slightly higher marks to get into the Honours one.
I think you'd better stick with the Honours one for what you'd like to do.
People would definitely pick an individual with Honours rather than just B.A.

I would say go for the Honours as well, it certainly opens up a lot more doors for you and better ensures you get to do what you would like in the future.

Thanks guys!
One more question. For the Honours program, it says that I need one of the three maths but I couldn't get into the MATH 1LS3 because it was full, so I registered for the MATH 1M03. It says that I need at least a C- in this course. What do you guys think? Should I continue to check for open spots or stay with 1M03?

It all depends on you. Because you know yourself best, you would be able to make the best decision for you. I think that relying on others to make decisions for you doesn't always turn out to be the best for your interest.

I took 1M03 last year and it wasn't too bad. My friends insist 1LS3 is a lot easier, but gets tough towards the end.

To be honest, I took 1M03 because the lecture time was in the afternoon and LS3 was at 8:30 am.

Thanks Kristen!
But are you super duper good at math and saying that it wasn't too bad?
Because to be honest I'm not tooooooo good at math.. I'd say average.
Was the work load heavy?
Thank you

XD
I'm alright at math, but only because my high school maths were ridiculously hard.
I noticed in 1M03 there were few surprises. If you did the homework questions and the online assignments then you were fine for the tests.
Most of the questions are knowledge based (like straight up numbers) and only a few were word problems.

Also, if the marks are too low, they change around the grading system to raise your mark.
Like... for us they gave us the option of making the final exam 90% if you did completely horrible on the tests.

EDIT: Work load isn't bad. There's about 5-6 online assignments. These are definitely good to gage how well you know the test material. You have unlimited attempts so you can get perfect on them if you put in the time. This was my main study tool. Other than this there are practice questions from the text book, which are completely optional, and then the 3 tests and exam.

I agree with Naakamura and Jeremy.

Anyways, I took 1M03,
but I'm not great at math by ANY means so I failed. O_O
I don't want to scare you or discourage you at all, lol,
I just didn't really do the work, therefore didn't really understand the material,
missed one of the online assignments, etc.
But the prof's are great, and if you do the weekly homework & online assignments,
you'll do fine.

I heard that 1LS3 was harder, but that's just what I've heard. =/
