first year social science and wants to drop a course
on the website it says i need 30units but if i drop a 3units course would that mean i may not be able to get into second year.

You can take another 3 unit course in second term

yes, you would have to pay for the extra course, around 600 dollars I believe.

If you dropped a course right now you wouldn't get all of your money back and you would still have to pay the full price for another course next semester. So in the end you would be spending more money.
