Fitness Classes at Mac
I was thinking of getting a Pulse membership but I would almost be soley using it to attend the fitness classes. I was just wondering if anyone has been to the classes, and what they're like? Are the instructors any good?
Thanks

I really like some of the fitness classes at Mac. They're fun, which makes them go by faster and because they're so fun, you almost forget that you're actually excercising lol. Other than that, they're nice because they're at different times of the day and there's really no commitment. You just walk in and join

I love the fitness classes at the Pulse. The instructors are all very energetic and the classes are really upbeat. You get into them and have a lot of fun. My favourites would have to be Kickboxing, 20/20/20, Bootcamp, and Circuit. It's too bad they don't offer any dancing classes there and you have to pay extra for an instructional dancing class.

Are most of the classes drop in, or do you have to sign up/pay before hand?

All the fitness classes in the Pulse are drop in. You don't need to pay beforehand because it is included in your gym membership fee. On the other hand, if you'd like to attend the cycling classes, I believe they are $5 for the whole year.

She's nice, but she gets super into her spin classes x_x
And referring to the first question, I've only gone to the core workout classes, and they were really good.

I'm going into first year, and tried to sign up for a membership online.. however the site won't let me register since I haven't signed up for anything before. Do first year students need to register in person at the gym?

You should probably just go in person since you will have to go anyways to pay the fee and hand in the form. When you go I think they have forms which you can fill out on the spot as well.

You need to have a membership to sign up for those classes, the $108 fee for the 8 months, that you have to pay beforehand.

Things like the pool and track are free and included in your tuition. But the gym equipment, rock climbing wall and classes require separate fees. $102 is for Pulse, which is the fitness center/workout equipment place. $102 will cover your 8 months at Mac. The Climbing Wall and other classes require extra fees as well. $102 is a great deal IMO though, for 8 months? That's a steal!
Edit: damnit... u.yousaf, kinda beat me to it xD just check out his link. It'll give you more info on what I basically just said.

Yeah, I totally agree. $102 for 8 months with a free track is a steal. I pay much more at the gym I go to. I’m going be signing up for sure. Thanks for the link Usman.

Definitely agree, I pay that much for just 3 months, so for 8, that's definitely awesome. Will be signing up as well.
