They start on the 10th of september for Mcmaster. It might be different for other schools though.

Classes start on Sept 10th.

Universities start whenever they want.

Lucky them? But then again they might have added days to other parts of the year.

I have a question related to this one.
On the first day of classes, I have a tutorial/lab, I wouldn't need to go to that right? Just making sure

That is correct. Just attend your cores. They will tell you when labs/tutorials start.

yep that's correct. You do not have to attend labs or tutorials first week of classes. Your prof will inform you when to attend them.

Like I stated in my last post, they will tell you when labs/tutorials start. Generally they start around 2 weeks after classes start. But obviously each course is different.

Oh, and someone mentionned before that the first cores are usually 10-30 minutes since it's more talking about the course outline/introduction type of lecture.

I hope they're not cause I have 3 classes in a row and I don't want to go for 10 min then go pack to rez then have to leave again in half an hour.

That really depends on the course and the professor. One of my classes last term handed out the course outline and let us go while another class taught a full lesson. Just make sure you go to all your classes, that first week can be some of the most important with getting settled.
