Yeah I believe that your supplementary fee covers the transit system in Hamilton.

yup yup. You get a yearly pass (covering september to april I believe) of HSR (the hamilton bus service). Just make sure that you put the newest sticker on your card (it'll say 08/09) otherwise some bus drivers will make you pay.

There is a Silvercity in Ancaster. It's a bit of a trek, but can be done by bus.

Sign up for a scene card, every 10 movies you see gives you a free movie. You also get 10 (or 15 can't remember) percent of concession.

Do any of the movie theatres in hamilton have half price tuesdays?

To get up to Silver City in Ancastor, you can take the 5C to Meadowlands from on campus. It only runs during the week though.

There's no half price Tuesdays to my knowledge at the Empire Theatres. Maybe that's because I've never been on Tuesdays I have a scence card too, but I wouldn't go that far out of my way to see a movie. Empire Theatres at Jackson Square is so conveniant and close, and it has good theatres as well. I believe there are 6 theatres and they're on par with Cineplex. I'm not sure about the price, may be cheaper. There's also the old theatre right beside the University in Westdale which plays only 1 movie, but the movies there are usually foreign or chick flicks.

The bus system may seem confusing at first, but that's just because it's new. It's a much easier system to understand than Toronto. Hop on any of the 4 different buses that come to the university going east. They all converge at downtown, 18 minutes away. That's right at Jackson Sqaure. You then take any bus from downtown that go out in all directions. So you could take one back west to the university, or south to Limeridge Mall.
