		 I'm considering this, but I don't know if the relative price has changed since Mowicz posted that cost analysis between bus passes and tickets. I vaguely recall the conclusion being that tickets everyday were more affordable unless you were commuting more than twice a day and on weekends.

Anyone happen to have it saved?

		 So during the fall/winter session my student card works as a bus pass, but in the summer it doesn't?

		 the pass is a little bit more expensive this year then last summer. Probably due to an increase in fares, so it would have to be broken down again..
 may--> aug is 123 days

$284/123= $2.31 per day (good if your going to be using it 7 days a week) you would save a little less then $30 for the whole summer

however.. if you know you would only use the bus say 5x a week at max
 5x$2.55= 12.75 a week
$12.75 x 18 weeks= $229.50

		 If you were to go somewhere 5 times a week for the whole summer that would require 10 bus trips a week (assuming you're there longer than a transfer would be valid for)
So that is going to be about 160 trips. Bus tickets cost $2, so if you used the bus this often that would be $320. Unless you are working a full time job I doubt many people would use the bus that often. It will work out cheaper to use tickets if you are going to use the bus less than 9 times a week with bus tickets (8 trips*$2* 16weeks=$256).

		 Bus fare is 2.55 IIRC.

It's not too expensive, I think I could benefit from it.
Just don't have 300 upfront. D: gah.

 I would also consider convenience when thinking about buying the card. I worked full time last summer and took the HSR, where I had to transfer twice daily. I liked having the card because I didn't have to worry about asking for transfers/wasting bus tickets when transferring if I forgot to ask for one/having my transfer run out while waiting for the next bus.

 Bus tickets can be bought almost anywhere... pretty sure compass sells them, and I think any convenience store should have them, too.

		 I want to get it because I'll be commuting to school all summer, 5 times a week. But I don't think I can come up with $284.00 right now. I'll probably end up using the strips again like I did last summer.

		 Last year you didn't have to be taking summer school classes to purchase the summer pass. It looks as though that has changed this year. Does anyone know why?
