Getting a major in Business?
I'm going into Honours Biology Core for my second year program as a continuation of Life Sciences Level I.

I am almost done Macro Econ and already have Micro Econ. I am planning to take two econs this summer and then 4 more later on to get a minor in Economics.

If I have enough electives, is there a way to take enough courses to get a major in economics?

Or do I have to be in a business program?

Thanks

P.S. I'm not looking to switch, I'm just very interested in business.

Econ is social sciences, not business. You can't be that interested in it if you don't even know that.

Grr wierd question, bio and econ looks a very rare/wierd combo. I have a feeling that combo doesn't show up on mugsi atleast, so you will have to go to the science counselling office in BSB to find out wether they can create a custom double major for you. But also beware that the first year courses are a joke to what econ will turn to in second year(I directly took 2nd year econ in my first year), you hardly get any amusing buisness aspects that first year courses promise/entice. It(2nd year macro/micro) is largely based on pile ups and pile ups of maths maths and more maths! So a bio and econ major will be pretty tough to cope up with I'd reckon. On the other hand a "minor" is when you take 24 units of any subject; you automatically get a minor!

Bio and Econ aren't as uncommon as you'd think. Lots of people in Science end up either minoring in Business or Econ and then doing an MBA post-grad.

Unfortunately, you're not allowed to do a double major in the Sciences; you can only do a major and a minor.

If you wish you can stay an extra year or so and finish with two separate degrees though. But as suggested I'd talk to one of the science counselors in BSB.
