gif's as Forum Avatar
I'm guessing this is more of a question for Chad or one of the MI staff members.
I was wondering if we could use animated gif's as our forum avatars. I tried making a gif as my picture by just typing in the url in the edit information page, but it said the file was too big. I'm assuming this means either a) it can't be done or b) I'm doing it wrong.
If it's a) is there a chance that MI could implement this so people could have animated gif's as their forum avatar - I think a lot of people would enjoy having them up.
Or if is b) could someone just tell me what I'm doing wrong XD

:thumbsup :

You must be doing it wrong..

I've had an animated avatar/signature since even before I became a staff member.

I'll look into why you're having trouble with those 2 gifs.

EDIT: Your images there are both roughly 124 kb, the forum limits your avatar to 56.6 kb. I'll see if I can compress them for you.

Lil vader is ready to terrorize the forum.

I couldn't compress Bert enough to make him forum friendly. too many frames.

How exactly did you compress it? If I ever want to change it I don't want to keep on asking you to do it for me :/

I have a really nice sprite animation program, but there are a million different free online resources to compress and resize animated gifs. if you just type in compress animated gif

Here's a decent one for compression: http://www.gifreducer.com/
I'm sure you can find a resizer easily enough, but you'll need to do that less often.

Also: Look at 3 posts above this. I fixed vader. made him too chubby by accident first time round.

camais, Deegs14 all say thanks to REPLEKIA/. for this post.
