Oh cool, I never knew that! Not like I had to take the GO when I was in highschool though.

Haha, yeah I know. But I needed that to find out whether or not I can use the 10-ride student tickets to come to Mac before my Student ID is done. Panicking is over, Thank God .. Didn't really wanna be fined $110 >.<

I think it does get mailed. But with the new system, it takes 4-6 weeks for processing and such :(, so I wouldn't be able to have it on time.

Yes, GO implemented that arrangement for high school students last year (i.e. you could just show your student card).

If you're going into first year I would check the GO website and/or ask a GO rep (i.e. an authorized ticket dealer) about your high school student card still being valid. Since you're no longer a high school student the validity of your card may have changed.

You can contact Compass (the place on campus that sells GO and other transportation tickets as well as provides information about campus) at [email protected] ca, if you'd like.

I read somewhere on the site, that every school card is valid until the October 31st of the next school year. I'll call them tomorrow to double check though.

Hm...I was wondering this too >.< since I was thinking of busing to Horizons or Welcome Day just to see how I would do it. (Home to McMaster) So then can I use my High School Student Card and buy a Student 10 pack at my local retailer right now? How long are 10 packs effective since I'll probably only go home around 10 times XD I doubt I'll be able to finish a 10 pack in a year.

Yep! I'm pretty sure we can use the high school student card to buy the 10-ride pass now! Hmm, as to how long they're effective for I'll check right now, or when I call them tomorrow!

ten rides do not expire, as far as I know. This was the case last year and years before that so unless something changed they do not expired

The only tickets that have an expiration are one ways (four hours from purchase) or monthlies. Everything else has no expiration.

However, if you are buying a student ten ride ticket, the ticket is only considered valid if your GO ID is valid.
