Going back home from Mcmaster University to Toronto on weekends?
Hi, I'm going to Mcmaster in September 2012 for first year... I want to go back to Toronto on weekends. Is there like a University bus that can take me there? I live like right downtown in Toronto, in the Spadina and Dundas area (near U of T).
If there is no University bus, what is the best way to get to my destination?
Thanks.

Yeah, there's a go and a greyhound bus stops on campus.
Also you can go to Hamilton downtown, dont know why would anyone want to go there, to the central GO station and take a bus or a train.

Yeah I'm going to live in residence so that's perfect ...
Can give me some more information about the buses, like cost, stops, etc? And/or do you have a link I can view for more info?
Thanks!

Hamilton to Toronto is about ten bucks one way, your best bet would be to get a PRESTO card, you can load money onto it and use it on multiple transit systems, including a few TTC subway stations. It can be purchased online or at any GO station. There is a bus that leaves the downtown GO station and James and Hunter every half hour, it's express to Union. If you leave on a weekday you can grab a bus from Mac to Aldershot or Burlington then take a train to Union.
Here's the schedule for the train:

The bus goes from Hamilton GO to Union Station, one of the stops in between is at Main and Dundurn. The bus that goes from Campus goes to Aldershot where you transfer to the train that goes to Union Station.

If you're living on residence, the easiest way is the GO bus near Mary Keyes to Aldershot/Burlington (#15 I believe). It takes you to Aldershot or Burlington station and then you get on the train there and it takes you to Union station. You may have to take the TTC afterwards to get home. Alternatively, you could look to the nearest GO station to your house and take another GO bus from union. A one-way trip from Mac to Union is ~$8 when you buy the 10-ride pass.

Yup, this is actually much faster than taking the GO from campus and then transferring to the GO Train.

What I do is take the 47 from Mcmaster_Go to Square one and another GoBus to a stop near my house. You pay ince at Mcmaster, its around $9.55 one way.
