A little bit of income can be useful and helpful right? But would it be a wise idea to get a job ( part time if possible ) when I am in life science?

Since it is your first year (right?), you should probably concentrate on studies first in term 1. Decide on getting a job after term 1, since you'll know if you can handle it or not.

I'm not sure about Life Sci, but in Commerce there were a few employment opportunities on-campus for a few weeks or a month. I'm sure you'll be getting emails about really short-term jobs if you want to make a little money, I got quite a few last year if I remember correctly

Why not, its only 1st year... doesnt make much of a difference in your future tbh (as long as you don't fail)

It depends if you think a job is worth the stress. I tried to get a job first year, but after the first shift I quit since some weekends you will spend all day studying and adding a job to that just means you wont get any free time and even if there are not any tests sometimes you just want to relax.

Wait until second term, then decide
