Solid price for such a great phone. Biggest problem with the phone is the battery life, drains very quickly do remember to have a charger with you at all tines

Awesome phone!! Love the pure android exp.

I have used both nexus 4 and 5 and I always get at least a day and 3,to 7 hours of life out of the battery.

In fact I'm replying from it now.

No lag, clean interface and consistent updates. Get it if you are a heavy user of google services. Love maps!

And very affordable.

Do you use a case for the phone?

Yup. I got one off of eBay with a screen protector. This is before Google's fancy covers.

I had a screen shot of the 1 day battery life... Looking for it.

Nexus 5 is a great phone, I've had it for 2 months now. It is blazing fast. Battery life may not be up to par with some of the higher end devices, but coming from a 2-year old HTC phone, it has been an improvement for me. I can get through a day, based on my usage.

Stock Android looks alot more polished with Kitkat, and the update to 4.4.3 should be coming out soon for performance improvements and address some bugs (which I personally haven't experienced).

People may also want to consider the OnePlus One, with slightly higher performance specs, 5.5" screen and only at $299US. Not sure if it will be widely available. And it runs on Cyanogenmod.

There's many reports out there claiming the Nexus line is being discontinued, as Google will be partnering with manufacturers to create more unified experience (less fragmentation). Thus, there will likely not be a Nexus 6.

I ordered this phone when it came out for sale this past Halloween. I absolutely adore the phone, and the screen protector & case I've gotten for it. There are minor issues with the O/S but I've reported them so hopefully it's resolved for the next update. If you want the pure Android experience, I definitely encourage buying one.

Nexus 5:
-Horrible Battery Life (the nexus 5's battery rating is worse than the nexus 4!!!!)
-Mediocre camera (not up to smartphone standards)
-screen is not durable (have seen many cracked nexus 5 from people who are careful) - case & screen protector is pretty much REQUIRED

If you really need stock android, nexus line/google play edition is where its at for an alright price.
Hope Google stops cutting corners for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 8.9

I remember buying one of the first nexus phones (I think it was the Galaxy Nexus). I bought it and opened it right away and used it for half an hour in the library. It was very buggy, laggy at times, and it was too big (yes, that's what she said).

I ended up returning it and getting the 4S. Shame though, the iPhone's price vs. storage capacity ratio is really bad. Apple better make the iPhone 6 basemodel come with 32GB of storage.

I think you need to compare apples to apples. Tell me if there's another smartphone on the market that's priced between $350-$400 (off-contract) that meets or exceeds the specs on the Nexus 5. I can't think of one. Not to mention its unlocked.
I'm using a Nexus 5 without a case or screen protector. The phone is plastic with gorilla glass 3.

Nexus 5 is part of the Nexus line, not sure what you mean. Google 'cuts corners' because Nexus products are for developers who don't need all the bells and whistles, rather they need a high performing phone to develop software. Nexus 5 also has built-in wireless charging, which many high-end phones do not have.

Well I ordered it when it just came out, so I believe it took two weeks or so.
