Check if CM9 is supported by your phone's model.

if you have adb and the SDK installed, rooting and installing a custom rom is really easy.

google makes things super easy with their flagship devices;

boot into the bootloader (usually by holding some keys down, in the Galaxy nexus case: volume - + and power)

the type in command

Code:
fastboot oem unlock
and then push recovery by finding a recovery over at clockworkmod.com/rommanager ( i cant post links until 5 posts ) for your appropriate phone

put it in the root dir and type

Code:
fastboot flash recovery (recoveryname).img
and bang you have an unlocked bootloader and recovery installed. you can then flash the SU.zip found all over XDA and get root. or just flash a custom rom from recovery.

i would definitely go with the nexus tablet, as it will always be the first tablet to get the newest software, and really software now is the only thing that REALLY separates OS' since hardware is subjective to the manufacturer.

hope this helps.

cheers!

feel free to message me for any more questions.

JB IS awesome. everything they added from ICS makes a big difference. all the little animations and "project butter" is amazing. i've been on the developer preview ever since it came out and haven't looked back to my custom rom

I cant wait till there is a JB rom for my desire.. Im surprised that ICS runs smooth without issues on it, so JB will run even better!

Also - I was thinking of preordering the Nexus 7 as well.. how much was tax+shipping to canada? what was your order total?

Totally missed your post..

I tried 2 roms, the AOKP rom and this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...hp?t=1355 660

Long story short - the AOKP crashed on me too often and was unstable.

The other one, is awesome. I had issues at the beginning, but after a handful of wipes and flashes, I finally have a stable rom with ICS. Make sure you run the built in A2SD since I found that to be best for me. Got over 30 apps installed right now, and still got 130MB of storage space

8gb comes to $259 and 16gb comes to $312

$20 shipping - which I thought was okay..

I ended up pre ordering it from staples.ca. Only had to pay 259 plus tax as shipping is free.
