That is correct. As long as you are in the local calling area of your cell phone number, all incoming calls are local no matter who is calling.

would you also have to pay for long distance incoming?
I saw a lot of plans and was surprised to see that people in Canada pay for incoming messages too :s
Phone plans/prepaid is really REALLY expensive in Canada :(

It's only long distance incoming if you are not in the local calling area of your cellphone number.

so what does an Oakville number look like?
what's the area code and exchange (the area code and first 3 digits of the phone number)?

Or will the people at the store know what I mean when I ask for an Oakville number?

Does this apply for an Oakville/Hamilton number from any provider (Rogers, Bell...etc)?

I know many people with an oakville number and the first three digits are either 905 or 289. I know hamilton numbers are also 289 numbers so you cant really tell just by looking at the first three digits if its hamilton or oakville number.
But I'm sure the people at the store will know what you mean by an oakville number.

or you can just get a plan like mine:

Unlimited outgoing/incoming calls/texts/picture msging/video msging to 10 numbers free, Canada-Wide, meaning no long distance charges no matter where in Canada you are.

Free evenings/weekends after 6.
10,000 text msgs, 10,000 picture msgs.
Call display, voicemail, whocalled feature (text msg of anyone who called you while your phone was off)
500 daytime minutes
500MB of data (I have a Blackberry)

All this for $60/month. Rogers.

(of course if you don't need the data you can take out the data plan, and it'd bring it down to about $40)

Wow, what plan is that? I just got this student plan yesterday, where I pay $10 less but I don't get the 10,000 texts/picture msgs or the call display/voicemail/whocalled. Also, I only get 200 daytime minutes rather than 500. I'm willing to pay an extra $10/month for all that lol.
