help with courses?
I have 2 electives I am deciding for first term in september.
I am going into first year in life sciences and looking for electives that take me away from the sciences.
I am stuck between the introduction to health studies (1AA3) and linguistics. I have to choose 1 of them for first term.
I know multiple languages so I initially took linguistics but the health studies course seems interesting.
For term 2 I have the aging and society course (1BB3).
I am not a fan or any essay writing at all though.

Can any upper years/ anyone who has taken these courses weigh in?
I don't know what I should do

Also: I think I am going to take physics 1B03 during the summer session but does that mean I only have 12 units of classes next term.
I can just take 4 classes and leave the physics one for next year?
or do I have to have 15 from the very beginning

thanks in advance

I'm going into my fourth year, and I'll be taking Ling 1A03?
I heard it was easy, so I'm gonna take that. + there's no essay question involved.

Since i was in the the linguistics program, I've taken the linguistics courses. It is an easy course and as the last post mentioned, there is no essays to write whatsoever. Just weekly exercises and quizzes but a lot of memorization is involved which should be a struggle to anyone...

Therefore, I recommend linguistics 1A03.

Hth Age 1AA3 is not bad at all. Depending on the professor, it's usually MCQ for the midterm/exam and tutorials/essay that's very straight forward. I.e. for me, it was a reflection paper, so more like a formal journal entry (if that makes sense). It's not too bad at all, and if Hth Studies is more interesting to you, I highly recommend it, because there's some pretty interesting upper year Hth Aging courses if you're looking for a minor/upper year electives (I'm thinking about doing a minor, and I wish I started taking them earlier!)
