Two things. One, this thread is about the Olympics, so making a claim that the Juniors losing 5 years in a row means Canada's Olympic team will lose is improper logic.
Two, 5th straight year Canada has nothing to show? Check back 4 years to the Olympic Gold Medal Game. And yes that is what your post means as it is posted in an Olympic Hockey thread.

I have no intention of supporting Russia in these winter games by watching or discussing any of the events. Canada hasn't fared very well in hockey as of late anyways so....

Canadians are overconfident thinking their the best at hockey...please look at Russia, Finland, Sweden, USA first and then comment. Winning in 2010 doesn't mean "hockey is Canada's game" and another fact is that Canada has not won outside of North America since 1952. You think the Russians will just let you win after 2010? They'll come out all guns blazing and especially since its their turf, Canada will have it tough. Winning at home doesn't mean you are the king of the game. Turin 2006 was a perfect example of what happen's outside of North America. Although I will support Team USA all the way, seeing Canada lose is more important to make sure "Canadians" hit reality.

That's really the best part about international hockey now. There is loads of parity, and plenty of second tier countries in terms of talent level (Switzerland, Germany) are getting stronger. Mind you, Canada will always be a force given that replacement level will always be high given their talent pool. It's practically impossible to screw up roster selections with this team. However, I'm still a little surprised that Claude Giroux, MSL, and even a kid like Taylor Hall didn't crack this roster. MSL would've been a perfect fit on European ice.

Did you guys know some of the players are from the local Hamilton team?
