Homeless People
Has anyone noticed an increase in the amount of homeless people wandering through the campus. Everyday I continue to see more and more. Today on my way to class I saw a guy going through the residence's recycling, I thought he was just sorting it but then I realized he had a rusty bike with a baby carrier full of beer bottles and cans. That's not really a big deal unless they start going through private stuff but ya.

I have NEVER seen a homeless person on campus... And even if I did, I don't see the big deal. It's a beautiful campus. People come here to walk their dogs.
The only time I've come close to seeing a homeless person was walkign to school down sterling. Some dude asked me for money. Dunno if he was homeless though.
If they start to solicite and beg for money, I might be annoyed but meh. Let them sift through recycling.

I have never once encountered a homeless person on campus. I live downtown and hardly encounter them, I may see a few here and there, but it's not like there is one on every corner.

Those aren't homeless people. Those are students.
Not every student can afford nice brand name clothes, or a haircut.

I've noticed a lot around Hamilton, I have yet to see any on campus so far.
But I'm pretty unobservant, they could probably walk right past me without me noticing...

I haven't seen any homeless people on campus and I'm SUPER observant. I'm never near the residences though.
I see lots of people walk their dogs on campus in the morning at like 8am.
Here's a question for everyone: Should there be a rule that only students/profs/TAs/staff/people who attend or work at McMaster are allowed on campus?
(Obviously this would be difficult to enforce, but I'm curious what people think)

a fair number of people go through garbages for cans and bottles, it doesnt necessarily mean they are homeless. i have yet to see any people who are obviously homeless on campus, but unless they ask you for change or something it would be hard to tell them apart from somebody who just looks scruffy.

I have people who go through my recycling at my student house, they don't look homeless, they are just getting the bottles that could be returned for the deposit. It's not like we were going to return them so I don't see an issue with it, its way better than them begging for money, if they are homeless.

I lived in residence for two years and never saw a homeless person, nor have I seen one on campus, not that I know of anyone.
As someone pointed out these could just be students.

There are actually a lot of random people who roam campus, including a lot of people with mental health problems.
I've seen one lady wander around the student center all day before security came to help her.
